My Phone Call with Anthony Mellone and Steven Cohen

Well after reading all the websites about the Tri-Star/Lyfetec/Anthony Mellone scams, I decided to find out for myself if this company is a scam – I called Tri-Star/Lyfetec yesterday (954.772.2640).

This is how the phone call went.

A lady answered the phone with “Corporate Office”.

I asked what company is this.

She paused momentarily and then responded “Lyfetec”.

I asked if there was someone there I could talk to about Lyfetec.

She said yes and within a few seconds a man came on the phone and said “hello?” (I am now on speaker phone and I can distinctly hear some commotion in the background.

I said hello.

They asked for my name and why I was calling.

I gave them my name and said I was trying to find more information about Lyfetec.

They asked if I was a shareholder. I said yes.

They asked how many shares I own. I told them.

I asked “who am I speaking with”.

He responded “Steven Cohen”.

I decided to ask a question about his resume that has always bothered me.

I said, “According to you resume, on the Tri-Star / Lyfetec website - you were president and CEO of Diane von Furstenberg. Could you tell me when?

Steven Cohen seemed rather defensive and said “why do you want to know?”

I said I'm just trying to find out more about Lyfetec and its management.

Steven Cohen first said he didn’t remember.

I asked him for a ballpark time frame.

Steven Cohen said it was sometime in the 70s. I asked for the particular years.

Steven Cohen said he would have to look it up and then he said “77”.

I asked 1977 to what year?

Cohen said “for a few years”.

I said “79?”Steven Cohen said “yes 77 to 79”.

I then said that the Tri-Star / Lyfetec website said that he was Executive President of Calvin Klein.

Steven Cohen said yes he was Executive President of Calvin Klein when he worked for “Puritan Fashions”.

I said “So you worked for Puritan Fashions and not Calvin Klein?”

He said that Puritan Fashions had the rights to Calvin Klein’s designs.

I said “So – you worked for Puritan Fashions and not Calvin Klein”.

Steven Cohen got very curt and said “Look - Puritan Fashions and Calvin Klein are the same company –Okay!”

I said Okay.

I changed the topic and asked when would the Tri-star / Lifetec shareholders receive the UC HUB dividend shares?

Steven Cohen first responded that he didn’t know and then he said “um,,within six months”.

I said “Six month?”

Steven Cohen then said “within two months”.

I said “so within two months?”

Steven Cohen then said “Look you’ll have them in a couple of weeks- okay?”

I said Okay.

I asked if they could tell me some more information on the “Intellect Laboratories” that was discussed in Tri-Star / Lyfetec’s last Press Release (3/23/09).

A new person said “What do you want to know?”

I said Steven?

He said “No, this is Anthony Mellone”.
(Note: Never heard a peep from Steven Cohen after Anthony Mellone spoke up.)

I said I thought you left the company?

Anthony Mellone said “Yea I did. I'm just here helping out.”

I said “Okay, ummm, well Mr. Mellone, I have a question that’s been bothering me - Can you tell me why Lyfetec and UC HUB list the same address on their respective websites?

Anthony Mellon “ We work with them.”

I said “But you have the same offices?”

Anthony Mellone “UC HUB and Lyfetec are part of the same team”

I said “Is UC HUB and Lyfetec the same company?”

Anthony Mellone said (in an unfriendly voice) “Look, I said we’re all part of the team – What other thing do you want to know?”

I said ”okay,,, um,, Where can I find more information about Intellect Laboratories?”

Anthony Mellone said “We don’t know”.

I said “But, according to your press release, you signed a contract with them. You can’t tell me anything about them?”

Anthony Mellone “Its Phil’s company.”

I said “Phil Matteis?”

Anthony Mellone said “yes. Intellect Laboratories is a separate division of Intellect Holdings.”

I said “so Intellect Laboratories is part of Intellect Holdings?”

Anthony Mellone said “No, they are separate companies”

I said “so Intellect Laboratories is separate from Intellect Holdings?”

Anthony Mellone said “Look, if you want more information on this – talk to Phil!”

I said “Is Phil Matteis there?”

Anthony Mellone “No.”

I said “Is he in Texas?”

Anthony Mellone “yes”.

I asked if there was a phone number where I could reach Phil Matteis.

Anthony Mellone said “ yes,,,um”
(Note: I heard some commotion in the background and someone saying “no.. don’t”.)

Anthony Mellone said “Here it is 214-991-8100”

I said “that’s the number for Phil Matteis?”Anthony Mellone “yes”

I said “ Well thank you for your time gentlemen, good bye.”I then hung up the phone.

END OF PHONE CALL

So – What was my impression of Tri-Star / Lyfetec?

I’m Out! I’m dumping every share I have with this company.

Anthony Mellone is Definitively in Charge
(Mr. Mellone maybe in charge of UC HUB too!)

After this phone call – I Know it’s a Scam.
